OUR MISSION
AND VISION
ArtVeda is a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to enriching cultural life in Tunisia and fostering cross-border dialogue. Established in 2016 through a collaboration among artists, cultural leaders, and activists led by founder Ahmed Mourad Khanfir, ArtVeda has since embarked on various impactful initiatives:
Hosting Artists at Risk: Through partnerships with organizations like Artist at Risk and the Institute of International Education, ArtVeda offers residency programs for artists facing threats due to their creative work or beliefs. ArtVeda provides temporary refuge and support to help them continue their artistic endeavors.
Artistic Production: ArtVeda supports and promotes artistic creation in Tunisia, providing a platform for local artists to express their creativity and share their perspectives with the world.
Creative Workshops for Marginalized Groups: ArtVeda organizes inclusive workshops tailored for marginalized communities such as children without family support and the LGBTQI community. These workshops provide a safe space for self-expression and community building through art.
In addition to our core initiatives, ArtVeda has formed strategic partnerships to amplify the impact:
Partnership with Artist At Risk: Collaborating with Artist At Risk, funded by Creative Europe and the Institute of International Education, strengthens our support for endangered artists and facilitates their international mobility.
ArtVeda’s commitment to promoting cultural diversity, defending freedom of expression, and bridging local and international artistic communities remains steadfast. Join us as we continue to empower artists, foster creativity, and inspire positive change through the transformative power of art..
We believe
Art is a powerful catalyst for societal transformation. By creating intellectually, spiritually, and scientifically open spaces, it unites, educates, nourishes, heals, and resists, driving constructive societal change.
Non-Discrimination:
Culture and art are human rights without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, gender, nationality, skin color, language, social origin, or disability.
Solidarity:
We stand in solidarity with artists both inside and outside the country, especially those endangered due to their artistic expression. Preserving freedom of expression in its diversity is crucial, and we believe Tunisia can be a sanctuary for these artists.
Freedom:
Art thrives in a space free from ideological, religious, political, economic, and social pressures.
Diversity:
Diversity fuels creativity, enriches societies, and guards against confinement.
